Otto Prutscher

OTTO PRUTSCHER was born on the 7.4.1880 in Vienna.

Attendance at the college for wood-industry and from 1897-1901 the School of Applied Arts in Vienna (at F. Matsch, Josef Hoffmann). After his studies he worked as a teacher at the "Graphische Lehr- und Versuchsanstalt" and from 1909-1939 at the School of Applied Arts in Vienna (Kunstgewerbeschule) , in the following years supervisor for schools for advanced trainings in Vienna.

Prutscher designed buildings and interiors for shops or cafés in Vienna. He participated at the communal programm for architecture in Vienna after the First World War.

Exhibitions: World-exhibition Paris 1900, Exhibition for Applied Arts Turin, 1902, Exhibition for Furniture 1905 (Gartenbaugesellschaft), Kunstschau 1908 and 1909, International Exhibition for Photography Dresden, 1909, Exhibition for Hunting, 1910, International Exhibition for Art Rome, 1911, Winter-exhibition at the Museum for Art and Industry 1911/12, Exhibition for Tapestry 1913, Anniversary Exhibition for the Association of Applied Arts 1924, Pressa Cologne 1925, The modern appartment 1928. Member of the German and Austrian Werkbund, Künstlerhaus Vienna and the Association of Austrian Architects.

Prutscher died on the 15.2.1949 in Vienna.
