George Kovacs

For decades, the name George Kovacs has been synonymous with the mid-century modern design he helped pioneer. This design movement remains as popular today as ever for a reason - the sleek, sophisticated and deceptively simple style has proven timeless. In 1954, George Kovacs opened a small store in Manhattan, importing modern and avant-garde lighting, revolutionizing the landscape of design. In 1980 George Kovacs started to present WOKA LAMPS VIENNA on the US-market. First in the Madison Avenue Showroom, later of fairs in Highpoint. Contemporary lighting design has been influenced for the past sixty years by George Kovacs and his peers.
